When my Father
was living, his avocation -
that he started in the 1940's after the second world war - was that
of being an Amateur
Radio Operator.
Over the period
of his lifetime his call
sign changed from W5NQN ("Nancy-Queen-Nancy
and later 'Not-Quite-Normal'") and
then in his post-retirement rules his call sign changed to K5FM. During the course of his activity, he contacted over 300 countries and received QSL cards from all of them; before
the time of faxes, cell phones, computers, emails and social networking.
All cards were sent by "Snail
Mail."
After my Father
died in 1998, Mother began
selling all his equipment and the only thing left are the two towers,
one 40 feet and the other approximately 54 feet tall.
- They are Tri-Ex
Tower Corporation Towers that
he bought from Madison Electronics Supply.
- The Towers
are Galvonized, All Steel Construction,
54 feet tall plus a 20 foot Crank-Up Mast.
- The
Antenna is a HS-354 beam containing 4 elements.
The tower folds over into a 2-3 fold over.
- The
towers have withstood numerous storms and hurricanes, since 1976; most recently Hurrican Ike in
2008, without damage.
I am trying to
help my Mother sell both of these towers,
preferably as a "package deal." This wouold be ideal for a
fellow "Ham", Medical or Church Missionaries, needing World
Communications Capabilities.
Tower Dismantling
Experience, Proof of Insurance required before
sale is consummatted. Price is open and negotiable.
